Sausage, Gravy, and Biscuit Pie - a comfort food classic!

Ingredients:
1 lb breakfast sausage
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Directions:

Preheat the Oven:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish.

Cook the Sausage:
In a large skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the breakfast sausage until browned and cooked through. Do not drain the grease.

Make the Gravy:
