You think you're disciplined until you spend time around someone who actually is.

Someone who hasn't missed a day in years. Someone who does the work when they're sick, tired, broken, and still doesn't talk about it. Someone who treats their standards like law while you treat yours like suggestions.

One week around that person and you'll realize you've been operating at half capacity your entire life and calling it effort.

Find that person. Stay close. Let their standard become your baseline.

Two signs of weak listening skills -

1. You auto-complete someone's thought in your head and disengage mid way, or start preparing your response.

2. You hear an interesting keyword and drift into your own related thoughts about it.

I see this happen so often when I meet people now. Listening is an active, energy-consuming, difficult task. It is not the same as 'hearing'.

Giving someone your entire attention is a form of care and respect and very few people now seem to understand how to do it.

Men do not always marry the most physically attractive woman they date. They marry the woman they like the most.

Sometimes thats the same woman, sometimes not.

Despite common narratives, wise men evaluate the whole person and the life they expect to have with her.

Attraction may begin with appearance, but as many attractive women are not suitable for marriage it is simply not enough.

It is entirely possible that the woman a man marries is the second, third, or even fourth most attractive woman he dated, yet he chooses her.

He chooses her because of her other qualities combined.

Maybe he could have done better looks wise. If that was all he cared about.

His interest in her as a whole person does not diminish her.

And he is attracted to her. That attraction is why he chose to date her in the first place.

It may be unkind to dwell on the comparison, but it can still be the reality.

Here’s the hard truth:

Most people will never escape average lives.

Why?

They follow the script:

school → job → retirement.

They wait for permission.

They copy what everyone else is doing.

You don’t have to.

The internet rewards builders, not followers.

• Start creating skills.
• Start building an audience.
• Start taking control of your path.

Your freedom isn’t going to come from luck.

It comes from consistent action and learning.

The scariest thing about running your own business is realizing everything is entirely on you.

That’s also what makes it worth it...

There are some uncontrollable factors in life: birth place, family wealth/connections, genetic predispositions early educational quality, opportunities, luck/timing.

No amount of hustle erases them entirely.

But you can focus on what's yours to control and be successful.

Few people know that Brazil has the largest population of black people outside of the African continent. In fact, it is the second largest “Black nation” after Nigeria, with over 100 million Black people.

Yet, there is little information in the media outside of the country about this group, specifically, information about the history of Africans in the country that defined and continues to define the affairs of black people globally. For example, the country’s Malê Revolt in its province of Bahia in 1835 is not only considered the most important revolt in Brazillian history but it is believed to have been instrumental in bringing an end to the international slave trade in the country.

Historians say that on the night of January 24 to 25, 1835, African-born slaves and freed-people in the northeastern Brazilian city of Salvador da Bahia carried out a rebellion to liberate themselves from slavery and create an Islamic homeland. The group of some six hundred Yoruba, Nupe, Kanuri and Hausa people from present-day Nigeria were led by Muslim leaders, having heard of and being inspired by the Haitian Revolution (1791−1804).
